General Manager – Commercial Finance Brokerage

Role Purpose

Based in our offices in Castle Donington, the General Manager (GM) is required to oversee
the team in our Finance Brokerage. The GM will be responsible for ensuring revenue targets
are met through the development of our existing and new client base along with our funder
relationships. This well established business benefits from a strong and healthy reputation
and is perfectly poised for strong growth with a dynamic leader at the helm.

The role will also require of the development of our team building on their product
knowledge and networks, identifying training and career development opportunities and
requirements, ensuring our team continue to support all of our clients in delivering the most
suitable options.

Working closely with the Group Director responsible for the business and the GroupCFO,
you will take the lead in developing, agreeing and the driving the companies commercial
strategies and working alongside the Directors of our seven associated professional service
businesses in order to maintain and develop the client portfolio’s and group opportunities
You will be joining a company that has built their reputation for excellent customer service

part in moving forward in this exciting phase of our journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production and ownership of commercial forecasts and P & L performance.
  • Identification of complimentary finance opportunities that can be referred to other
    departments within the group.
  • Support the advisers to find the most suitable option for finance for the client and the
    introduction of new products.
  • Managing the internal team for their personal growth and compliance and supporting in
    their development of CPD.
  • Networking locally to foster existing and developing network of professionals who to
    introduce opportunities to the business.
  • Maintain a relationship with all lenders, new and existing to serve future finance
    requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of activity on the company operating system for auditing
    purposes and general regulatory compliance.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge across the Banking and/or Finance in sectors delivering business finance
    such as commercial mortgages, bridging loans, business loan, asset finance and invoice
    finance.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, to ensure sound relationships with
    colleagues in order to support and train for their personal growth.
  • Experience of maintaining relationships with existing lenders and/or borrowers.
  • Experience of working in a B2B environment with focus on the SME sector.
  • Strong inter-personal skills to work alongside all stakeholders including senior group
    management.
